Bali Pass Trek In reality, Uttarakhand is known as Devbhoomi. Uttarakhand, which is blessed with a sublime beauty and is steeped in spiritual mythology, is a trekker's paradise. The region's fascinating geography treats you to a memorable trekking adventure, and the majestic Himalayas enchant you to the point that you want to return for more. You are not in the mountains; rather, the mountains are in you, as John Muir so eloquently put it.
One such high altitude trip that fascinates hikers with a varied vista of Uttarakhand terrain and provides everything a hiker could possibly want is Bali Pass.
A description of the Bali Pass journey
bali pass base camp, a high altitude journey that flatters you with the many facets of the Himalayas, is located at an elevation of 16,240 feet. Through this challenging journey, which links Yamunotri and Har Ki Dun Valley, you may experience the unadulterated beauty of a Himalayan pass crossing. The hike travels along small, dangerous paths with some high ascents and descents. In addition to taking you to the holy Ruinsara Lake and Yamunotri shrine, it also takes you along the Tons, Yamuna, and Supin rivers.
This walk rewards you with breathtaking views of the majestic trio of Kala Nag, Bandarpoonch, and Swargarohini peaks as you pass through steep terrains, dense forests, lush meadows, colourful orchards, sacred lakes, and temples.
Getting ready for the hike-
As this was my first difficult journey and the altitude was also rather high at about 16,200 feet, I was very eager to go on it. I nodded yes to doing this trip despite performing significantly worse on the previous two treks (Nag Tibba Triund) simply out of excitement. I was rather dubious about my decision to sign up for the walk, but I made an effort to focus on the trek and avoid being sidetracked.
After receiving confirmation of my walk, I did a lot of research into it, read a lot of blogs, looked at pictures, and tried to learn as much as I could.
Day 1: Drive from Dehradun to Sankri
I got to Dehradun ISBT about six in the morning. I had an hour before the 7 a.m. meeting, so I could do nothing. I showered and drank some steaming tea. When the trek leader, Rahul, called, I finally got to meet my fellow trekkers. With the exception of myself, there were a total of 6 members, and I was the youngest of them all.
After all of this, we started driving over the mountains toward Sankri in the Uttarkashi district. A number of well-known treks, including Har ki Dun, Kedarkantha, Ruinsara Tal, Maninda Tal, Borasu Pass, and of course Bali Pass, have their beginnings in Sankri.
Drive to Taluka and hike to Seema on Day 2
bali pass trek distance By 8 am, everyone had prepared themselves, and we set off for Taluka village, the final roadhead located 12 kilometres from Sankri. We travelled in a Bolero camper, and there were eight porters with us who were responsible for transporting the necessary supplies for the walk, including tents, sleeping bags, food, cutlery, and other gear.
In India, there are two different kinds of treks: one where a porter carries the supplies or logistics, and the other where a mule or horse carries the supplies or logistics. The former is used on all other treks where there is a proper route and they are not particularly difficult, whereas the latter is used especially on difficult high altitude treks where the route is not paved and good enough, thus mules cannot go there.
Day 3: Trek from Seema Camp to Rainbasera
We practised energising yoga in the morning. You should do yoga in the mountains, I assure you. It's time to leave the crowd and go the less travelled path now. After eating breakfast of aloo parathas, we set out on the hike at eight in the morning. We followed the track directly out of the village and into a forested area with dense bushes. The trail began with an uphill and a downhill gradient. We had to navigate a couple challenging areas that had boulders and little streams.
