Off-site Construction & Component Management

Maxwell GeoSystems are experienced Geotechnical Engineers with decades of boots-on-the-ground experience of major construction and infrastructure projects.

Factory Management Systems

Maxwell GeoSystems configurable MissionOS platform is being used to manage all aspects of componentised "off-site" construction. The combination of SCADA, GIS and BIM in one web-based platform leads to simpler systems and more connected working.

Process Management

We create bespoke SCADA type factory production interfaces to manager process flow in real time (5 seconds). Hundreds of process sensors can be arranged to track production lines according to your exact requirements.

Productivity Management

The data from these sensors are automatically linked to the production shift report module which records production, waiting and downtime according to a set of codes you design.

Embedded Instrumentation

Maxwell GeoSystems and sister company, Etherterra, design embedded instrumentation systems for a variety of conventionally reinforced and fibre reinforced components. These new IoT solutions use new techniques to monitor the components during construction and installation with no trailing wires, low power and high sampling rates. The use of embedded electronics reduces the size and cost of these systems and removed 80% of the cabling leading to better results and less deleterious effect on the component for the instrumentation exercise.

These system have been used during projects to confirm performance as part of acceptance tests for alternative designs.

QA/QC Batch Management

Each completed component is registered to the production system with the details of geometry, reinforcement, concrete, gasket, bolting etc all recorded as manufacture time to a parent record. Using the "positions" features the production line can be pre-described and QRCodes assigned to mould numbers for printing and attaching ready for transport.

Each component parent record has a number of child records which can track a variety of QA/QC checks including concrete and reinforcement tests, cover-meter tests, visual assessments and laser-scanning files.

Storage Tracking

Once created, the components go to temporary store awaiting transport. MissionOS has a very flexible system for creation of stacked storage facilities with the status of each component colour coded and geographically located.

Transport Logistics

By referring to the position management system at the point of delivery, MissionOS can help to arrange objects for delivery in the optimum order for direct insertion into the works.

Using the storage tracking logic, components can be assigned to temporary stores representing transport systems (eg. Trucks) by reg no. These trucks can be also treated as GIS objects and tracked using GPS trackers so you never lose touch with a components location and eta at site. For congested work sites, this information is important to ensure environmental compliance and that the required components arrive in the correct order.

By using the diagnostics capabilities of the GPS trackers you can also automate shift reporting of your transportation systems and identify causes for supply issues and improve the production logistics.

Installation

Arriving at site, the QR codes are scanned as the components are sent to form part of the construction.

In another example of the position management features in MissionOS, a user can set up pre-defined position arrangements for components and in the transfer to the work front check that components are sent in the order in which they are expected. This enables fabrication to be done quickly and easily especially in tight places where there is little or no opportunity to store components temporarily.

The real-time digital twin capabilities of MissionOS help users visualise and track the build as it proceeds and bring in other data sources which may be relevant such as this plot of TBM thrust forces on each ring.
