Accommodating Ukraine Returned MBBS Students Into Indian Colleges Will Compromise Merit, Says Government
The Government of India in an affidavit to the Supreme Court said that they will not be able to accommodate Ukraine returned MBBS students into Indian medical colleges. Thousands of Indian students had to flee Ukraine owing to the geopolitical situation in the country. The center argued that most of these students opted to study in Ukraine due to poor marks in the NEET (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test) exam or due to affordability of medical courses in Ukraine.
