I’ve been taking music lessons for a while now, and being part of a smaller program in the Northwest Chicago suburbs has made a huge difference. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the focus isn’t just on playing everything perfectly, but on really understanding the music and enjoying the process. My teacher takes time to get to know how I learn, and the lessons are always adjusted to fit where I’m at.
What I like most is that it doesn’t feel rigid or intimidating. Whether I’m learning a new piece or just working through a tough spot in my practice, there’s always patience and support. I’ve had friends at bigger programs in the city, but honestly, the individual attention I get here feels more valuable.
